TransX - Transborder experimental assessment of warming vulnerability in northeastern tree species and their assisted migration potential
The Transborder climate gradient experiment is a network of tree plantations in Canada and the United States composed of carefully selected natural and improved genotypes of key northeastern tree species. The main focus of TransX is on the response of trees to future warming, focusing on leaf and growth phenology, health and survival across species and populations.

The objectives of this project are:

to assess the warming tolerance of key natural hardwood and softwood species and populations to inform adaptive silviculture strategies

to assess the cold tolerance of southern populations to inform assisted migration and changes in seed transfer zones
-
to quantify genetic control of growth and survival across temperature range for well-known improved progenies.
